MUSE, an abstract work of loose geometric shapes in monochrome. Yellow, representing light, energy, hope, underscores the painting. In the lower part of the work, the moon aligns with the sun in a partial eclipse. Old ideas dissolve into the night, via the fragmenting center of the work. Openings, like doors, appear in the form of a square, a diamond and half circle, set within the constellations of a sky shifting from night to day; the doors allow higher ideas to surface.
MUSE is concerned with the concept of 'the dark night of the soul', a challenging period of night that eventually breaks in the morning sun.
